Will I find five positive things about each day and write them down in the comment section?

Resolution criteria:

  • Proof is me writing an entry here everyday.

  • I may slip once, but only if I provide an entry the day after.

  • If I slip twice this market resolves NO

  • If I acquire seven entries this resolves YES.

Other market conditions:

  • I have had depressive episodes for about 25 years now

  • I am diagnosed with adhd and tend to have a lot of projects going on at the same time

  • I am taking medications for both conditions.

  • I am currently not seeing a therapist, so I don't have anyone checking to see if I do this other than myself.

  • I am currently unemployed, so have lots of "free" time on my hands.

  • I tend to be very disorganized and easily overwhelmed, so keeping this going might not be always as easy for me as it sounds.

I believe this is valuable but am often too disorganized to keep my journal going. In my ever ongoing effort to get better I'll be using Manifold as my motivational tool. I have other markets for sports and social media consumption.

If you want to support me you can bet against me on this market here and on the sports market. The social media market is for analytic purposes and I don't bet there.

I have a bit of mixed feeling about this one here since I'll be providing details about my life to random strangers but it may be worth it if I can finally get this habit going.

Sunday:

  • Had a talk with my besteht friend about my Depression. I said that they have cost me my master's degree and I will not let them ruin my life further. I have to spend this year on trying rid myself of them. He said that I might be on a good track.

  • Seen another good friend of mine who has just handed in her dissertation. Now she has only a month or so to prepare to defend. I am glad to have seen her in the short break in between.

  • Cleaned my and tidied my room further. My mother helped me. She is there for me

  • Had a meetup with a guy I know from the students dormitory I lived in. He is a cool dude. He invited me to join his group to visit a metal festival this summer. I might just go.

  • Have seen a beautiful sunset through the windows of my car. A sky full of cumulus clouds lit by golden and red light. I am always amazed that people just accept that there are mountains of ice floating above our heads with just the most spectacular light show each evening.

Saturday:

  • Suffered a lot today but didn't resort to hurting myself.

  • Didn't get into a fight with my father even though he hurt me.

  • Spend some time cleaning my rooms

  • Looked for help. Found some strangers on the internet who were nice to me.

  • Weather was nice.

Friday:

  • Got a lot of work done. I can be proud of myself

  • A friend will come to visit me on Monday and then we'll visit another friend together and afterwards we'll go to the cinema with another group of people. I am not alone.

  • Had a nice chat with the wife of my boss at my sidehustle. She seems happy to have me helping. I am useful and skilled.

  • Felt the strain in my muscles from yesterdays workout and I long for more. I am strong.

Thursday:

  • Got a haircut and the hairdresser told me she liked my hair because of its color. I bleaches a bit with the sun, so I my hair gets brighter the longer it becomes and since I have shoulder long hair this effect is quite pronounced. This never occurred to me. I have had hair for the last few decades but never bothered to actually look at it. So I learned a new thing about me.

  • Got to pet a Siberian husky. It was shedding its winter coat, and it was coming of in big flocks. I really enjoyed cleaning that fur and the dog did too. In the end I had almost enough hair to build another, smaller dog.

  • In the gym I decided that the time has come to switch to actual strength training. So did sets of 6-8 reps instead of the usual 15. Weight increased dramatically. It was exhausting but rewarding.

  • I started ttinkering on a side project I was thinking about for quite some time. A 3D printed spanner to get help with adjusting my ibanez guitar with floyd-rose bridge to octave purity.

  • I had an exhausting discussion with my mother where we got into our old habit of me sharing an idea and her getting anxious, then projecting that anxiety onto me, thus depressing us both. I managed to identify that situation and speak up in time. Things can sometimes go well.

Wednesday:

Not too much of a day. Spent the first half reading stuff for a project of mine, then went to the pharmacy to get my meds but they were closed. Must have misremembered their opening times. Spent the other half of the day sluggishly doing work on my sidehustle. Almost got into trouble with my father, who was also irritable and thin-skinned today.

Went to the gym in the evening only to find i had forgotten my shoes, so i had to leave again... Man what a zero-day -.-

Anyways, gotta find some positive stuff:

  • I got a bit of work done on the sidehustle

  • I read some interesting stuff on psychedelics for depression

  • My place under the balcony is quite fine to do work outside while still being at home.

  • Didn't get into a fight with my father and actually had a pleasant chat with him in the evening.

Tuesday:

  • Got up without the alarm.

  • Saved three bees who got trapped in my room and even fed some honey to one of them.

  • Enjoy the new looks of my room after I hung up two book shelves and several pictures.

  • Created three markets and linked them properly.

@Schwabilismus went to the doctor to get a transfer to a radiologist to finally see what I can do about my wrist and knuckles.

@Schwabilismus went to the woods with my father. Pulled out some fallen trees that were hanging where the kids from kindergarten use to play.
