I’m attending Stanford! Since I live so close by, I’m especially interested in studying abroad in another continent (probably Europe or Asia) - but I’m not sure where I want to go. I’m not really fluent in any foreign language, but I’m reasonably proficient in Spanish, and willing to spend time learning a language for a cool study-abroad.
Stanford offers the Bing Overseas Studies Program, where you can apply to spend a quarter in one of various different locations. Apparently their main criterion is demonstrating you’re a fit for the program. There are nine locations with “Stanford In-Programs” where Stanford facilities and faculty are present, and some additional universities that just partner with Stanford. There’s also a “Stanford in Washington” program.
Market resolves to the first location in which I study abroad, or NONE if I graduate / drop out of college without studying abroad. (This is pretty unlikely though: 50% of Stanford students study abroad, and I actively really want to.)
I’d love to hear recommendations if you think any of the programs would be a good fit for me, particularly if you have firsthand experience with BOSP!

I talked to some people who went to Cape Town and I'm sort of falling in love with the program. I feel like maybe I should use my study abroad opportunity to live somewhere with a really different culture, with the idea that I can visit Europe a different time (I didn't visit Europe but by some reckonings I had a ~98% a priori chance in the last two summers)
@Odoacre Ooh, that’s a compelling argument! Unfortunately it doesn’t seem like Stanford’s Australia program is a great fit for my academic interests, but you do make a good point
