Li Keqiang to step down: The Chinese Premier, the second most powerful official after Xi, is not listed in the new Central Committee — which means Li is set to retire from his party role. Analysts say this could significantly tilt the balance of power in Xi’s favor.
@jack Li announced his retirement months ago. I was actually thinking it might be abolished to allow for Xi to appoint a younger loyalist. After Hu Jintao was escorted out of the Congress ceremonially we can probably bet Hu Chunhua, his protege, won't be on the Politburo Central Committee. What do you think @stormtk293 ?
@jack I am pretty sure you are correct though as all the announced changes did not include this one.
@BTE Hu Chunhua seems little chance right now. It seems this time they don't have patients to play any balancing game.
