I'm currently in an RCIA class (https://www.usccb.org/beliefs-and-teachings/who-we-teach/christian-initiation-of-adults) targeting baptism at Easter and unsure I'll go through with it. I don't have a sponsor yet, which I'd need. I'm not sure I believe strongly enough to go through with it. I can answer questions in the comments

I get the feeling, as a recent adult convert myself. Personally I'd peg my faith at about 70%, but I do sometimes feel guilty about not believing with all my heart and soul.
That's fine though. All is forgiven, as long as I don't blaspheme the Holy Spirit

Why did you start taking the class?

@ChanaMessinger had been interested in exploring it for some time, wanted to take it seriously and give it a shot, thought that a class with a specific goal could be a good way to do so

What is a sponsor in this context?

@MaxG I think this:

A sponsor accompanies any candidate seeking admission as a catechumen. Sponsors are persons who have known and assisted the candidates and stand as witnesses to the candidates’ moral character, faith, and intention.”
“As they become familiar with the Christian way of life and are helped by the example and support of sponsors, godparents, and the entire Christian community, the catechumens learn to turn more readily to God in prayer, to bear witness to the faith, in all things to keep their hopes set on Christ, to follow supernatural inspiration in their deeds, and to practice love of neighbor, even at the cost of self-renunciation.” https://ctk.org/rcia-sponsor-guidelines#:~:text=%E2%80%9CA%20sponsor%20accompanies%20any%20candidate,%2C%20faith%2C%20and%20intention.%E2%80%9D
