Last evening I was casually browsing the subreddit of my home town (London) and:
the most upvoted thread was an effortpost on bedbugs
the second most upvoted was some very good pov fiction on bedbugs
this morning even more about bedbugs
It seems that the mainstream press agrees from the left side to the right side that this could be a problem.
Some info about me that's relevant is that I go into the office around five times a week. I mainly travel on the Elizabeth Line, Thameslink, Jubilee Line and Circle/Ham&City/Metropolitan and it takes me ~30 minutes to commute. I don't plan on taking any special measures.
Will my home have a bedbugs infestation in the next roughly 6 months? This question will end either when I have bedbugs or on Mar 31 2024.

@Stralor let's take them one by one:
where else do/ will you sleep?
I just sleep at my home and nowhere else.
planning any trips?
I'm going to Barcelona for a weekend trip in early November. I'm staying in a 4 star hotel in the city centre, but good point to be careful.
I'm also going for Christmas to Romania, in Bucharest and my small home-town. Three nights at the same type of hotel, and then my parents' house.
I don't typically travel in the first three months of the year and just enjoy the miserable weather in London.
is your office particularly dense with wooden furniture?
Just your typical tech office, not necessarily denser than the average open office space. We do have some awful wooden meeting room jacks, but I trust that my corporate overlord does a good job on cleaning the office.
do you take a bag with you to work?
I always have my backpack with me. I'm frequently oncall and keep my laptop close.
@f I'm not sure if I'll dox myself too much for this statement, but I am very much not into the trashy types
