In June 2023, the UK announced that it would host first global summit on AI safety. It is planned to "bring together key countries, leading tech companies and researchers to agree safety measures to evaluate and monitor the most significant risks from AI." A recent post by the Centre for the Governance of AI
advances the view that China should be invited, as an opportunity to ensure that responsible global AI governance includes China. Will China be invited to participate, similar to other participating countries?
