Competition Rules

• Manifold users compete to take pictures in the wild of vanity plates that they come across

  • Pictures have to be an in-person sighting and have to come from the user after this start of this competition (4/24/2024)

    • Don't cheat

    • Don't do anything illegal

    • No plates that have already been submitted lol

  • Any user may enter the competition by adding their username to this question

• When a user posts a picture with a vanity plate, they have the opportunity to "capture" the state that the plate is from

  • If there is No Owner of a state, the user will gain control of the state

  • If there is already an Owner of the state. then the new vanity plate will "contest" with the old one for control of the state

    • I will run a new kernel of ChatGPT-3.5 (may switch to 4.0) and ask it: "Which of the following vanity license plates best describes the US state of [STATE], [CURRENT PLATE] or [CHALLENGER PLATE]?"

    • If the challenger plate is picked by AI, then the user (and plate) will take over control of the state

    • AI conversation will be posted, I will try to follow up without bias if I am not given a straight answer right away by it

• A winner will be declared either after one user controls 26 or more states or at the close date of this market (right now 1/1/2025 but could change)

Payouts (subject to change)

• M1000 to first place

• M500 to second place (2nd most currently captured states at competition close)

• M250 to third place

• M10 any time a competitor attempts a capture

• M10 any time a competitor successfully captures

• M10 to each user for each state they own at the end of the month

  • I will try to resolve all captures timely and by the end of the month

• Potentially more bonuses in the future for held "sets" of states or other accomplishments

• Note with the potential change to Managrams, I'm going to try to find a different way to pay out!
