Criteria = an app, website or a program that allows any ebook (format can be restricted) to be added and turned into a highly-realistic human voice audiobook (obviously subjective but basically something you can't tell apart 90% of the time).

@firstuserhere Hi, I'm really sorry and don't know how I missed all of your comments. I'll have a look soon at all the services you've suggested.
@firstuserhere Wow, it really is impressive after testing it. Too expensive for whole books for now but it does seem to meet the technical criteria. Thanks for your persistence and sorry again for keeping you waiting!
@Nostradamnedus No problems at all! It is expensive but as my comment 2 comments below shows, it's really good too. The samples linked here are just the free voices, their premium versions are even better
@Nostradamnedus can you give an update? Have you tried 11 labs? I've personally spun up a service to read out loud Erotica using custom voices and it's good. I frequently use 11 labs to read out chapters while I'm doing chores and it's as good as anything read by a human in most cases
@firstuserhere I'm using the 2nd one of these voices today to listen to Metamorphosis by Franz Kafka
@Nostradamnedus another example: not directly about audiobooks but does show highly realistic human voice on live call
@Nostradamnedus elevenlabs is realllllly good, try it out, even the free version should be enough for you to resolve this
@Nostradamnedus does it suffice if the voices are limited in number but highly human like? As in, good AI generated voices of 3-4 types but you can use it for whatever text you want?
Amazon tried to add text-to-speech as a kindle feature a few years ago and the publishers sued them, saying that it was infringing their audiobook rights. So Amazon removed it.
I think this market will probably resolve YES, but getting auto-audiobooks on everything in practice is going to be more of a legal than technical challenge.
@Sinclair There are lots of things done online that are technically illegal. There will probably be "pirate" sites that have such a feature available.
@Sinclair Hi, it's not about whether the product is available for sale or as a service, it's about whether it is possible to have such a product.
A product, which is capable of doing the task: "ebook turned into a human-like audiobook" is definitely possible today. I already have this tool - I have made it for my personal use and I'm currently listening to the Shawshank Redemption book in the voice of Morgan Freeman, it's lovely. I'll assume there are many paid services out there that cover a wide range of voices. If not, then it's still possible to do this, which is what the question asks to my understanding
@Nostradamnedus The Microsoft edge's built in voice tool has almost all really bad voices except 1 I think is high quality for something free - the "Microsoft Liam Online (Natural) - English (Canada)"
