i.e. the "narrator" of the book is listed as a famous human who didn't actual produce the reading, such as James Kirk, Patrick Stewart, Vin Scully, Morgan Freeman, Orson Welles,

OR it's marketed as being read by someone "in character" for example Harry Potter books read by "Harry Potter" who sounds like Daniel Radcliffe as he acted, or by "Gandalf" or "Frodo" etc.

@firstuserhere Voice cloning! I have a setup where I'm able to do decently good voice cloning now. I just need a small sample (a few mins tops) of the person's voice. There are some software programs out there which are quite good, better than my tiny setup, but if you wanna try out voice cloning- there's "coquii studio" (https://app.coqui.ai/studio) which is decent (especially for something free).

The caveat in my set up is that i've not tried it extensively - only a few people like David Attenborough, Morgan Freeman (a little bit), etc (all males, all relatively slow speakers, etc). I can share links about how to do this if you want! I typically do a few chapters at a time, club them and download an mp3 - and listen to it on walks/runs.

@firstuserhere i would LOVE links about how to do this!! thank youuuu

@firstuserhere hey, would still love the links you mentioned about your setup!

@saulmunn @firstuserhere I'm also interested!

Pretty sure it'll be breaking some laws if they did that.

"In the voice of David Attenborough - generated by <AI>" - would a disclaimer like this count as YES?

@firstuserhere yes that would be a canonical yes case
