The President of South Africa is elected by the members of Parliament, who are in turn elected by citizens in a general election. The 2024 general elections in South Africa were held on 29 May and votes are currently being tabulated.
The current President is Cyril Ramaphosa and his party, the ANC, is on course to lose its majority in South Africa for the first time since the end of Apartheid in 1994. Losing its majority would likely force the ANC to form a coalition with one or more smaller parties in order to form a majority.
-Resolves "Yes" if Ramaphosa is elected for a second term in 2024.
-Resolves "N/A" in the unlikely scenario where no president is elected.
-Resolves "No" under all other conditions.
