Resolution polls for [Add options] Who will Manifold think is the best living human? (virtue ethics, deontology, consequentialism) :
[Resolution poll, first-past-the-post] Who do you think is the best living human, given deontology?
After market close, for each ethical philosophy, I am creating a poll with all the eligible added market options, asking 'who do you think is the best living human, given [ethical philosophy]?'.
At the time of market creation, current Manifold polls only allowed first-past-the-post voting, so I'm sticking to that for market resolution, but may create duplicate polls with ranked choice later to see the difference in results.
Ranks 1 through 10 will earn 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 points respectively.
An option’s overall score is the sum of the points it receives across all three trait rankings.
The option with the highest overall score will be declared the winner of the market.
Vote tie-breaking will use the LM Arena approach of treating all candidates that are tied at a specific level as being at the same highest rank, but with them still taking up slots in the ranking, allowing spillover beyond 10 options e.g.

@TiredCliche I'm not Christian, but if we grant that it's true, arguably funding contraception thus preventing births thus preventing people existing that will most likely end up in hell seems much more foolproof than guessing the correct denomination and trying to evangelise for it
@TheAllMemeingEye That argument does seem to hold, assuming longtermism AND Christianity AND the belief that most end up in Hell AND Hell is not annihilation. Of course, if the believer in all those things believes contraception is inherently sinful, then they may be putting their own afterlife at risk, in order to possibly prevent the possible suffering of possible children. And what about the children's children? That's a trolley problem for sure!

@AnnCummings No, in another forum we ruled out people who had arguably died even partially before as "currently living."
I meant the person who caused or inspired the most other people to live meritorious and virtuous and good lives, and repent from their sins, before dying in a state of grace.

@AnnCummings Forrest is my name, this is just my username. I would say Pope Leo XVI would be a good example! He's definitely spent his career hearing confessions, dispensing advice, ministering to the sick, and catechizing other priests who go on to catechize the laity.
But you could definitely make arguments for non-religious do-gooders- Peter Singer has definitely inspired tens of thousands to reduce the suffering of others, etc.

I am not certain of the meaning of "catechize", but I am sure it is very important. I have not heard of Mr. Singer but I did look him up: My favorite Singer is Marla Singer. Perhaps you have heard of her?
