The Supreme Federal Court is Brazil’s highest court and has the authority to issue orders affecting internet platforms and social media services operating in the country.
In recent years, justices of the court have issued orders requiring platforms to remove accounts, restrict content, or comply with legal investigations related to misinformation, illegal activities, or threats to democratic institutions. In some cases, courts have also ordered internet service providers to block access to specific platforms if they fail to comply with judicial decisions.
This market asks whether any justice of the Brazilian Supreme Federal Court (STF) will order the blocking or suspension of a social media platform in Brazil before the specified deadline.
Resolution Criteria
This market resolves YES if:
Any justice of the Supreme Federal Court issues a judicial order that blocks or requires ISPs to block access to a social media platform in Brazil.
This market resolves NO if:
No such order is issued before the deadline.
Resolution will rely on official court decisions or reporting from major news outlets.

Any justice of the Supreme Federal Court (STF)
Any President in charge of Brazil
Any Brazilian Judge
Update 2026-05-21 (PST) (AI summary of creator comment): The creator is considering expanding the resolution criteria beyond STF justices to include any President in charge or any Judge in Brazil who orders a social media block. This is already reflected in the edited description, meaning the market may resolve YES if any of these authorities issue a blocking order, not just STF justices.

Should we add more people in charge that can block any social media?. Comment bellow.
Edited Version from today 21 May of 2026. It Includes any president in charge or any Brazillian Judge.
@lovecraft I have a serious question regarding what is considered “official” and what is not. Brazil has different prosecution and enforcement methods that are officially recognized. We also have to acknowledge that, if Brazil enters any war or major conflict, social media content could potentially be treated as enemy influence and that could be blocked.
