The LES may take any form, the condition being that lives would have certainly been lost if the system or procedure hadn't been triggered successfully.

Not limited to orbital flights (an event like Blue Origin's NS-23 would count if it had passengers).

@NickvanderKroon even one life saved would count, yes? E.g. if there is a single survivor out of a larger crew? I'm thinking if the LES activates but some crew don't survive ether the activation (I hear they can be pretty violent) or landing.

@DavidChee Soyuz T-10-1 (1983) and Soyuz MS-10 (2018). It also happened during Blue Origin NS-23 (2022), but that one was (by sheer chance, as they had already flown passengers) uncrewed.
