@DontGoHome it resolves based on Wikipedia, see description.
Sometimes Wikipedia changes its mind, so if he ends up not on the list I’d hope this will unresolve. But there’s a section on that page for non office holding politicians, which seems to cover activists (?) so my guess is this will stick.
@Ziddletwix yeah. If I'd considered it in detail in advance I'd have specified elected politician, mostly because the boundaries are fuzzy. But I didn't, so I'm going with Wikipedia.
I'd personally call him more of an activist than politician, but he's clearly close.
@Ziddletwix My understanding is that non-office holding is for folks who did have an office, but were not so gainfully employed at time of murder. (One instances was only a political party leader; I think political party positions would count for this, but activists probably wouldn't.) We would have many many more entries if every activist (for how long? Does every grandma who writes a letter qualify?) fell under this category, no?
I assume this is going to be an edit war, he's no longer listed. I'm reopening this, but please be warned this is going to be a mess, I don't yet have a standard for when the edit war is over, and I'm just going to decide sometime about that rather than try to come up with a good rule in advance. If it sticks for a week that's probably sufficient, but I might change my mind if I become an involuntary edit war expert and decide something else.
@EvanDaniel yeah edit war would Make this messy but my guess is it’ll settle within a month or so.
In my musk nickname market, a nickname got added for a few days that clearly didn’t satisfy the rules for the list, but soon enough it got edited out and stayed stable after that. Maybe this will get contentious but normally it settles
