Every prime minister since David Cameron has used a unique lecturn for Downing Street announcements to the press. Before the end of 2024, will Keir have swapped out Sunak's for a new one?
I upgraded this to Basic for a bit more liquidity.
So, as far as I can tell from the AP photo archive, with all the international travel the last time Starmer stood behind a lecturn at No. 10 was on 6 July, before this market began.
Interestingly (or not, lol), during a visit to Cheshire last Friday he was pictured in front of a very similar lecturn to Sunak's, with slightly thicker bezels on the front. This won't matter for our resolution here, though.
Just to clarify what I mean by new.
If Starmer swaps out Sunak's for any lecturn that has been previously associated with a PM, as per Wikipedia, the market won't resolve as YES.
If he regularly uses a unique one that's not been associated with any PM (whether it is commissioned and built for him, purchased, or found in a civil service cupboard) I will resolve as YES.
