This paper (https://github.com/WhitzardIndex/self-replication-research/blob/main/AI-self-replication-fudan.pdf) claims that an ai system (local llm process + scaffolding process) is capable of replicating itself.
I'll use my own judgment to see if the paper has been replicated. Another paper claiming replication replication would be enough, although a replicator replicating the replication would be more convincing.
If at market close i'm convinced YES, otherwise NO.
