If Roe v Wade is overturned, some states have laws that will take effect that prohibit the destruction of fertilized embryos. The language varies and the exact meaning is unclear. This may affect some types of contraception like IUDs and Plan B. Both work primarily by preventing fertilization. However, copper IUDs may also be used as emergency contraception where in addition to preventing fertilization they also can prevent implantation of a fertilized egg. In the wake of a Roe overturn, states could also pass new legislation that directly restricts birth control. Here's one article on the topic: https://www.wired.com/story/ramifications-of-post-roe-world/ Resolves YES if IUDs are substantially restricted in any US state in 2022. Because the law and interpretation of the law is unclear, this will resolve based on any relevant court decisions, reliable reporting on the legislative interpretation and intent, and the de facto impacts. If the situation is ambiguous I will resolve N/A. Related: https://manifold.markets/jack/will-ivf-be-substantially-restricte

I believe there have been no substantial restrictions in place. If anyone has evidence otherwise let me know, otherwise will resolve NO.

The closest I could find is "in Missouri, where Republicans tried to stop the state’s Medicaid agency from paying for emergency contraceptives and IUDs" Source: https://www.reliasmedia.com/articles/attacks-on-contraception-access-happening-in-abortion-ban-states. I don't think this is sufficient for YES.

seems likely that one of the many conservative states will do something crazy
