This market resolves to BloombergNEF/DC Byte's estimate of total installed U.S. data-center facility power capacity as of the end of 2027, measured in gigawatts (GW).
“Capacity” here means facility power capacity, including data-center infrastructure overhead. It does not mean direct IT load, actual electricity consumption, announced capacity, contracted load, or projects still under construction.
Geographic scope is the 50 U.S. states plus Washington, DC.
The primary resolution source will be the first BloombergNEF/DC Byte publication after December 31, 2027 that provides an end-of-2027 installed-capacity figure using the same or substantially comparable methodology as its current “Installed data-center capacity forecast, by region” series.
If only regional values are provided, they will be summed to obtain the U.S. total.
If BloombergNEF/DC Byte has not published a sufficiently precise comparable 2027 value by June 30, 2028, the fallback source will be FERC's 2027 State of the Markets report and its estimate of in-service U.S. data-center capacity, provided that a sufficiently precise numerical value can be determined. Otherwise the market resolves N/A.
Later historical revisions will not change the resolution.
