Resolution Criterion: According to WHO data, will the number of Malaria deaths in 2023 be larger than the number for 2022?
Context: After years of decline in Malaria due to intense global efforts, in 2020 the amount of Malaria cases increased for the first time, mostly due to disruptions caused by COVID-19. 2021 figures show a small decline from that. 2022 and 2023 data has not yet been released. There's recently been a lot of concern over possible increases in Malaria that are driven by climate change as well as an invasive mosquito, Anopheles stephensi, which reached Africa lately. This species thrives in urban environments and is resistant to many treatments such as bednets. This market exists to see if these concerns are well-founded
