@strutheo is it safe to close this? the window for getting enough nominations closed a few days ago so he's disqualified now

Championship Rounds on X: "🚨 BREAKING: Conor McGregor has announced that he is no longer running for President of Ireland 🇮🇪 "Following careful reflection, and after consulting with my family, I am withdrawing my candidacy from this presidential race. bought Ṁ70 YES

@Blomfilter This does give me pause, but I still really doubt it. It was very hard for even moderate, well liked candidates like David Norris to get on the ballot last time. I just don't see what anyone has to gain from supported a widely hated rapist

@StephenBuggy i know, i'm just here for the memes, it would be wild if he is on it lol

opened a Ṁ1,000 NO at 3% order

It's now incredibly unlikely

opened a Ṁ250 NO at 25% order

I think yes holders are vastly overestimating how easy it is to get onto the ballot for the presidential election. You need to get nominated by a political party or get local councils to nominate you. Neither of those groups have much to gain from a McGregor candidacy.

we're americans, any tv star can be president :)
