The next Scottish Parliament election is due to take place on 7th May 2026.

Since the Scottish Parliament was established in 1999, every parliament has run its full course and there have been no early elections. However, with Humza Yousaf quitting as First Minister before he could lose a VONC, there is speculation that the current Parliament will not go the disatance.
