@Elspeth it's only a conspiracy theory if it's something that currently is officially false but is secretly true and those in power are conspiring to cover it up, so it must be using the interpretation that means it's not already known to be true

@TheAllMemeingEye A lot of media sources still say she is completely biologically female, without any intersex conditions. Most notably, that is how it is written on her Wikipedia page.

@Vesperstelo Hmmm, ok I'll admit I'm not an expert so I might've been misled, I thought she had xy chromosomes but mostly female anatomy due to the y chromosome being unusually weak, this might be due to disagreement on definitions

Imane Khelif's own trainer says "there is a problem with her hormones, her chromosomes", which would seem to suggest that she has an intersex condition (in line with the previous reports that she failed a chromosomes test).

The IBA have also said that Khelif has XY chromosomes according to the Washington Post: https://www.washingtonpost.com/sports/olympics/2024/08/01/imane-khelif-algerian-boxer-gender-paris-olympics/ and the IBA also has a statement here https://www.iba.sport/news/iba-clarifies-the-facts-the-letter-to-the-ioc-regarding-two-ineligible-boxers-was-sent-and-acknowledged/ saying, of Khelif, "The laboratory detected results that didn’t match the eligibility criteria for IBA women’s events." and then also says that their criteria are "Definition of Women/Female/Girl = individual with chromosome XX".
