The USD/RUB exchange rate passed 100 for the first time in 2023 last week (8/15/23). Immediately after this, the Russian central bank immediately raised the key interest rate 3.5% (from 8.5% to 12%), presumably to defend the value of the RUB.

Will the official USD/RUB exchange rate pass 100 again at any point this year? Resolves YES if the Bank of Russia reports a USD/RUB exchange rate of >100 at any point in the remainder of 2023. Resolves NO otherwise. If the Bank of Russia stops reporting these numbers by the end of the year, I may choose an alternative source for resolution. If the Bank of Russia continues to report these numbers, but is substanitally at odds with other credible sources (>5%), the most credible estimate, at my discretion, will be used.
