China's Belt and Road program started in 2013. I often wonder about the social and cultural effects of having hundreds of thousands of Chinese workers living and working in Africa for years. Are they mixing with and marrying the locals, or at least having children? There has been very little evidence of this so far. But, I might as well create the market to see if anything turns up. The kids will start growing up soon, if there are any at all, and once they come of age may go online and begin to talk about their lives and explore their origins.
It will be hard to get an accurate count, but if the general consensus of western media is that there are 5000 or more, this will be YES.
