Any over ear headphones will count regardless of name such as AirPods Max 2, AirPods Max gen 2, AirPods Max pro.

Earbuds definitely do not count.

If Apple somehow releases new headphones under a completely different product name it will still likely count unless there is some fundamentally different technology/feature set that radically distinguishes it from the AirPods Max. For example if Apple releases a Vision Pro 2 with built in over ear speakers that would not count for this market.
