How does this resolve if Syria recognizes Golan as Israeli? Israel annexed it in 1981, but there would be a massive amount of news articles saying that the Syrian recognition of the annexation is what counts.
Edit: same for the parts of Israel's capital that Jordan occupied between 1949 and 1967, which the Palestinians don't recognize as part of Israel (to the extent they even recognize any of it).
@BrunoParga There is some technical thing here which is that the Golan wasn't annexed but Israeli law was applied.
@nathanwei I'm not sure that distinction represents a real difference.

The Golan is Israeli territory as much as Tel Aviv is. There's not even a difference like exists between Hong Kong and mainland China.
