Currently, I pay $20/month for ChatGPT+, but that's the only AI tool that I pay for. I have considered paying for Midjourney ($10 or $30/month), as well as Suno AI ($8/month), but those are really the only other tools I've seriously considered subscribing to.

I will mostly subscribe to something if I think it's particularly cool, provides something that no one else does, and especially if it's the only way to get access to a state-of-the-art model. Things I might be interested in subscribing to (non-exhaustive) include a good video model (able to produce 10-15 seconds or more of high quality video), a good song model (able to create music that is genuinely hard to distinguish from real artists' music), and whatever model is currently the best reasoning model (currently GPT-4). I don't expect that I will have significant budget restrictions that will mean I couldn't pay $100/month for AI tools that I found cool enough.

This will resolve based off of the expected average monthly payment of things I'm subscribed to on December 31, 2024. So if I buy an annual subscription to something in May for $120, I would count that as $10. If I buy a monthly subscription to something in September and cancel it in the middle of December, that doesn't count. If I get a 3 month free trial in November, and after that a tool would be $20/month, I'll resolve based on whether I expect to continue paying for it after the free trial ends. Things that are not mainly AI tools, even if they contain an AI tool as part of the subscription (eg Twitter Premium, unless I'm only subscribing to get access to Grok) don't count.

Feel free to ask clarifying questions in the comments. I won't bet on this question.

Update: I spent $10 on a suno.ai monthly subscription in order to get access to the new V3 model, but just for one month, so I'm not committed to anything beyond March yet.

@dominic Also I got the two-month free trial of Gemini Ultra. Currently do not plan to renew once it ends
