Gallup polls Americans on their confidence in American institutions, publishing results every summer (see 2023, 2022, 2021).
The number of Americans who report a "great deal" or "quite a lot" of confidence in public schools has declined from 58% when polling began in 1975 to 26% in 2023, tied with 2014 for the all-time lowest confidence rating.
Will Gallup polling show a decline (i.e. 25% or less) in Americans' confidence in the public schools in 2024?
