Resolution criteria

This market resolves to YES if James Talarico defeats JD Vance in the 2028 United States Presidential Election, winning the presidency.

This market resolves to NO if:

• JD Vance wins the 2028 presidential election against James Talarico.

• Neither candidate wins the 2028 presidential election (e.g., another candidate wins).

• James Talarico and JD Vance do not face each other as the primary Democratic and Republican nominees in the 2028 general election, unless the market creator edits the criteria to allow conditional resolution.

Resolution will be based on the official certification of the electoral vote count by the U.S. Congress in January 2029 or an undisputed consensus of major national news organizations (such as the Associated Press) projecting the winner.

Background

JD Vance served as U.S. Senator representing Ohio before being elected Vice President of the United States on the Republican ticket with Donald Trump. Vance is widely viewed as a leading potential contender for the Republican presidential nomination in 2028.

James Talarico is an educator, Presbyterian seminarian, and former member of the Texas House of Representatives who gained national attention as a rising figure in the Democratic Party after his campaign for the U.S. Senate in Texas.
