Next generation nuclear (fission) power plants such as sodium-cooled fast reactors (SFR) require a special High-Assay, Low-Enriched Uranium (HALEU) currently only produced by one company in Russia. To make nuclear power freshly viable in the US, there needs to be alternate sources. Centrus, a US based company is nearing these production capabilities.
Resolution will likely be from a Centrus press release issued no later than 1/15/2024 stating they succeeded in 2023 although I will accept other reputable sources.
