Will any paper published in 2024 be agreeing to the Every Author as First Author proposal by Demaine?

Resolved
NO

See https://arxiv.org/pdf/2304.01393.pdf

I will only consider papers published at (non junk) scientific journals or conferences, no pre-prints. I will resolve this positively if I find a paper following Demaines proposal or am pointed to it. Almost following the proposal will also resolve positively.

  • Update 2025-01-01 (PST) (AI summary of creator comment): - Resolution Date: January 7th.

    • Resolution Process: I will try to find papers that used the proposed citation style and also consider any papers referenced in comments here.

I will resolve this question on January 7th. Until then I will try to find papers that used the proposed citation style and also consider any papers referenced in comments here.

@MarcusWilhelm a quick search on Google scholar was negative, so I am expecting to resolve to no

It took me a minute to work out that the paper in question wasn't satirical. The hovertext thing is clever, I suppose? It still sort of seems like you're eliding the problem and scooping it under the rug of another interface layer instead of addressing it, but I'm not sure it's a huge problem to begin with, so . . . I guess?

@AndrewHartman I was super confused about whether it is satirical or not. If it was published two days earlier (and maybe also by someone less famous than Erik Demaine) I would just say it’s a joke.

Clarifications: papers in 2023 won’t be counted, also I won’t count papers that only have one author to start with.

Does this market exclude papers published in the remainder of 2023? Often I see markets like this and they are inclusive of the time between the market creation and the target time frame, but as worded this market would seem to sleep on the remainder of 2023 and only wake up for 2024.

Hahahaha, love it :D
