In late June, America began sending [High Mobility Arial Rocket Systems](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M142_HIMARS) (HIMARS) to Ukraine. Wary of escalation, they were sent [on the condition](https://www.economist.com/europe/2022/07/13/ukraines-new-rockets-are-wreaking-havoc-on-russias-army) that Ukraine would not use them against targets on Russian soil.

***Will American rocket systems be used against targets on Russian soil before July 2023?***

This question will resolve YES if Ukraine attack targets on Russian soil and credible sources conclude they used American rocket systems to do so. If any other group use American rocket systems to attack Russian soil, it will resolve YES.

Otherwise, it will resolve NO.

Jul 19, 12:28pm: It may be unclear whether American rocket systems were used against targets on Russian soil. If this ambiguity remains two months after the question closes, this question will resolve N/A.

Russia claim to be concerned, but is it mere rhetoric? > Since February, the West has supplied Ukraine with increasingly powerful weapons to use in its defence against Russian forces. > > \[Russian Foreign Minister\] Mr Lavrov says that has forced Russia to expand its objectives further. > > "We cannot allow the part of Ukraine controlled by \[Ukrainian President Volodymyr\] Zelensky... to possess weapons that would pose a direct threat to our territory," Mr Lavrov said in the interview with Margarita Simonyan - a well-known commentator on Russian TV and editor-in-chief of broadcaster RT. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-62231936
