The bipartisan ADVANCE Act (“Accelerating Deployment of Versatile, Advanced Nuclear for Clean Energy”) was recently (April 2023) introduced in the Senate committee on Environment and Public Works to support development of nuclear energy in the US. The contents are described in this article by the Breakthrough Institute.

This bill is a follow-up to the Nuclear Energy Innovation and Modernization Act (NEIMA), which in 2018 passed the House by a vote of 361-10 and the Senate by voice vote, and was signed in January 2019.

This market will resolve positively if the ADVANCE Act passes both the Senate and the House and is signed by the President in 2023 or 2024. The Act can be amended, as long as it retains a substantial portion of the original content. If the name is changed or similar contents are passed as part of a different act, it will not count.
