Edison Motors is a company based out of British Columbia, Canada. I have no affiliation of this company in anyway, but from what I have gathered from their website and social media platforms, the company is targeting an interesting niche market in the trucking industry of diesel-electric trucks with a focus on heavy haul since their background appears to be in logging.
Their website states that they reserved a truck with Tesla back in 2017 and after 4 years of waiting they decided to build their own and cater it to their needs for logging and heavy haul. I love the fact that they are retrofitting older trucks in with new technology to get them back to work. Also, there's now updates that the company is currently exploring an Edison Pickup Kit that will help retrofit aged pick up trucks we all love with similar technology to their semi truck designs. If that isn't a text book definition of the Reduce, Reuse, Recycle slogan we've all come to know, I don't know what is.
As a CDL holder in the US who isn't necessarily passionate about this industry, I have to admit that I am very interested and hoping for this company to find a way to be successful and make a significant impact in alternative vehicle power source technology. I'd love to see what you all think and if you have anything to add to the question. Thank you!
Please forgive my awful grammar skills.
