Resolution criteria

This market will resolve to YES if, before January 1, 2050 (00:00 UTC), any of the following conditions are officially fulfilled:

1. Official State Name or Identity Restoration: The Russian Federation legally changes its official name to restore the "Union of Soviet Socialist Republics" (USSR / CCCP) or creates an explicit state entity designated as its official successor.

2. Political Reunification: Russia formally re-establishes a single unified sovereign state encompassing a majority (at least 8) of the 15 former Soviet republics under a single central government.

3. Restoration of Soviet Governance & Economy: The Russian government officially enacts constitutional changes to adopt a Marxist-Leninist single-party political system and a fully state-managed planned economy, abolishing private market mechanisms.

If none of these conditions (or explicit criteria refined by the creator) occur prior to January 1, 2050, this market will resolve to NO.

Note: Because "going back to the Soviet era" can be interpreted politically, economically, or geographically, the market creator may edit these criteria to establish additional specific metrics.

Background

Following the dissolution of the USSR in December 1991, Russia transitioned from a centrally planned socialist economy to a market-based capitalistic system with high state involvement in strategic sectors. While Russian political discourse frequently references Soviet heritage and Russian President Vladimir Putin famously described the collapse of the USSR as a major geopolitical tragedy, political analysts distinguish modern Russia's economic and political structure from that of the Soviet Union. Modern Russia operates as a market economy with private property, integration into global financial networks, and an elite-driven capitalistic structure, unlike the Marxist-Leninist state model and centrally planned command economy characteristic of the Soviet period.
