Resolution criteria

This market resolves to YES if Rand Paul is officially nominated as the Republican Party candidate for President of the United States for the 2028 presidential election.

Official confirmation will be determined by the roll call vote or official declaration at the 2028 Republican National Convention, or through official certification by the Republican National Committee (RNC).

If another candidate receives the nomination, or if no nominee is selected by the conclusion of the 2028 Republican National Convention, this market resolves to NO. If Rand Paul does not seek the nomination, drops out, or is eliminated prior to or during the convention, the market resolves to NO.

Background

Rand Paul has served as a U.S. Senator from Kentucky since 2011. He previously mounted a campaign for the Republican presidential nomination in the 2016 cycle, suspending his bid after the Iowa caucuses. His current Senate term ends in January 2029. The 2028 Republican National Convention is slated to be held in Houston, Texas, where delegates will formally choose the party's standard-bearer.
