Resolution criteria

• An Independent who formally caucuses with either the Democrats or Republicans will be treated as belonging to that respective party for the purpose of resolution.

• Stay a Democrat / Caucus with Democrats: Resolves to YES if Fetterman remains a registered Democrat and/or formally caucuses with the Senate Democratic Caucus.

• Become a Republican to give the Republicans control (50:50 Senate): Resolves to YES if Fetterman joins the Republican Party or caucuses with the Senate Republican Conference, and this choice is the deciding factor in establishing a Republican majority (such as creating a 50-50 split with a Republican Vice President breaking ties).

• Become a Republican after the election: Resolves to YES if Fetterman joins the Republican Party or caucuses with the Senate Republican Conference under any other Senate seat-share outcome. (Resolves NO if the option above resolves YES)

• This will resolve on March 31st, 2027. It may be extended if active talks about changing parties are happening, but will close as soon as a consensus of media reports decide what Fetterman is doing.
