Pressure continues to build on McCarthy from his far right flank. Typically he would appease this group by making promises or releasing statements paying lip service to basically whatever they wanted, but the stakes are too high now for such sophmoric tactics. Will McCarthy rise to the occasion or will the Speaker's gavel prove to be too far out of his reach, forcing him to abdicate for a yet unknown junior Republican?
