The first two books of the The Kingkiller Chronicle, The Name of the Wind and The Wise Man's Fear, were released in 2007 and 2011. It does not look like Patrick Rothfuss will release book three anytime soon.

For it to be widely read, there have to be at least 10,000 ratings on GoodReads or any comparable website that aggregates reviews.

I don't think this is likely for legal reasons.

The part I find unlikely, is the existence of one definitive Ai version, because any technology that can produce 1, can produce a thousand, none of which will be clearly better than others. I could believe in the fan-maintained library of Babel-style AIDoS wiki where you could filter versions by popularity and the keywords and plot points, like the most popular version where Kvothe dies in the end, for example.

@GGtr even if a single of those AI written versions gain widespread reader base as measured by ratings on GoodReads this question will resolve to Yes. I did not say it had to only be one, at least one had to read at least 1/10th of the virality or coverage the original 2 books got.

@Aditya Yes, that's clear. I'm saying I expect that the multiple versions will probably split the attention between them and none of them will be especially popular by itself, same way that it's hard to name many popular AI paintings.
