Expect resolution criteria to change in the first week of this market being active!

This market resolves YES if, in the event that the U.S. government imposes a $100,000 (or greater) fee on H-1B visa petitions, that fee is required for petitions filed on behalf of international students who:

  1. Graduate from a U.S. college or university and then apply for an H-1B position with a U.S. employer, or

  2. Transition from F-1 OPT or STEM OPT status to H-1B status through a petition filed by a U.S. employer.

In other words, the market will resolve YES if the fee applies equally to standard H-1B petitions regardless of whether the beneficiary is coming directly from abroad or is already in the United States on a student-related status.

The market will resolve NO if such a law, regulation, or USCIS policy explicitly exempts these categories of applicants (e.g., international students graduating in the U.S. or those on OPT) from paying the fee, even if the fee applies to other categories of H-1B petitions.

If no $100,000 (or higher) H-1B fee is enacted or implemented by the end of Trump 2.0, the market will resolve N/A.
