This will be an unranked market to determine the 16 Business and Culture contestants who will compete in the Manifold G.O.A.T. Tournament round of 64.

Subject to my final approval, the 16 candidates who have the most individual YES holders at the time of market closing will resolve YES, and all other candidates will resolve NO.

The percentages do not affect the outcome, only the number of individual YES holders.

My final approval is based on a few factors:
1. They are a documented historical figure.

2. If a person is nominated in two separate categories, I will resolve both as YES, but choose the next highest rated answer from either of those categories as an alternate, so they are not represented twice in the bracket.

The 16 chosen answers will move on to compete in this market:

How will you resolve ties? Looks like there may be a large number of ties, but I don't see a tie breaker specified. @houstonEuler

@JamesBakerc884 I thought I'd pinned the comment from another qualifier, but I hadn't. I'll be the tiebreaker, and am willing to offer my opinion on any potential ties, if someone asks in the comments.

Is Sam Altman greater than Steve Jobs?
Is Taylor Swift greater than Michael Jordan?
Is there anyone we missed?
Only three days left to nominate your favorite Business and Culture candidates, come see who's currently advancing.

Homer

Is Homer a documented historical figure?

@SanghyeonSeo Yes, I think there's enough uncertainty to allow him to be considered a historical figure.

Like just maybe Business and Culture are 2 completely separate things??

@ChrisMillsc5f7 They're increasingly intertwined, and business itself didn't seem to fit with any other categories without giving it too great an influence.

Eminem

I added this after looking for that name in the list, but only noticed afterwards that "Marshall Mathers" was already an option. I don't see a way to delete my answer (?), so please resolve this N/A I guess

@ADings Thanks for the heads up.

The description says Philosophy and Religion - I think you meant to change that?

@TimothyJohnson5c16 Thanks, fixed!
