For context, I was raised in a millenialist church, and it’s fascinating that there’s a number of strong parallels between the orthodoxy of Christian millennialism and common rationalist attitudes regarding AI singularity, especially when it comes to modes of reasoning or how outgroup narratives are addressed.
Would love to hear others’ thoughts on this! I personally am interested by the ways in which we echo the past in our social beliefs today.
