I am not sure the average partisan knows what they "should" believe on AI yet, and we've yet to see the candidates really get in on the act (in public speeches and tweets). But there is already a partisan split. It seems like the AI safety people are mostly on the Democratic side and the accelerationists support Republicans. We've already seen this with Biden's executive order on AI which Trump reversed, for instance.
