Resolution will be by the capture of bbc.com/news/health displayed by the Wayback Machine for Jan 1, 2025, or by an equivalent archiving service if the Wayback Machine becomes unavailable. If multiple different WM captures are displayed for the same day, I may resolve to a percentage.

The goal of this market is to capture the probability that an emerging infectious disease captures the attention of the health-conscious public. A novel variant of an existing disease might count (if it escapes existing vaccines or is otherwise highly contagugious), but long-term epidemics such as HIV and Covid will generally not count unless they are sufficiently novel and emergent in 2024.

Because interpretation of the above paragraph is subjective, I will not trade in this market.

Cancers getting diagnosed at earlier stage
posted 2 hours ago so 2nd Jan UK time so I think that is too late and is not an emerging infectious disease anyway.

AFAIK just the one covid origins data story linked above dated 30 Dec and was still there as top story after 10pm UK time.

@brp resolve please
@mods inactive account, think it can resolve no.
