Before the controversy Kimmel and Fallon both were in the 1.1 million to 1.5 mllion range. Colbert was ahead at about 2-2.5 million. Gutfeld led all with 3-3.5 million.

So I am thinking through the wording of the last question. Did Kimmel stay ahead of both Colbert and Fallon in the ratings for the month. He ended tied and was behind for the last half of the month. So he did not stay ahead of Colbert for the month. He ended tied at 2.1 million. He did not stay ahead during the last half of the month with Colbert at 2.4 million. Thus I am resolving to NO.
It does not appear like the daily ratings can be obtained without a subscription to Nielsen. Kimmel and Colbert are tied at 2.1 million for the full month. Kimmel did beat Fallon. Kimmel beat Fallon and tied with Colbert. Colbert passed Kimmel for the second half of the month. Do @admins or the two participants on this have any opinion. So if we say Kimmel had to stay ahead of both Colbert and Fallon then he did not stay ahead of Colbert for the second half of the month which would result in a no. It is ambiguous enough that an NA is also an option
Kimmel averages over 2 million for October. The last question is a problem Kimmel and Colbert are very close. Kimmel has beat Fallon. This will need getting detailed day by day ratings for all of October to work out the exact averages. I am not sure that info will be available. Currently looking like a 2.1 million to 2.1 million tie. Can go partial or NA if thr precise data for 3 decimal places is not available. Any preference or opinion.
@CraigDemel I cannot find more granular numbers. Plus Colbert had a constant lead of 2.4million to 1.9 to 2.1 million for the last 2 weeks or so. With a few days to report the sources were calling it a tie. But Colbert was adding 300k to 400k per show or about 15-20k for the monthly average.
Kimmel is averaging about 2.1 million viewers so I resolved kimmel averaging over 1.6 million for the month. That is assured. It is still very close for Colbert and Kimmel for October. Cannot resolve until shows this week have aired and the ratings in early next week. Kimmel averaging over 2 million needs to have the ratings for full month.

looks like once friday's episode airs the two affiliate markets can resolve NO (they require him to be preempted for a whole month, and looks like they lasted <1w)
@Ziddletwix I will resolve early in October for the Sinclair and Nexstar. The questions were about October. It is highly unlikely to change back again but weird things can happen.
@brianwang fair—I misread the question but makes sense for these all to apply to just the month of October!
