An announced specification is sufficient; an actual demonstration or independent verification is not required. Optional packages, including thrusters, count.

Exactly 1.0 seconds does not count. Neither does a statement merely expressing a goal or ambition to achieve this performance.

Resolves NO if no qualifying announcement occurs on that date, including if the event is postponed or cancelled.

Clarifications

• The intent of this market is whether Tesla officially announces a 0-60 mph time strictly below 1.0 second. Any special conditions or modifications count, including a specially prepared road surface, optional equipment, thrusters, rollout subtraction, or any other performance-enhancing setup. An official statement that the car can achieve this time is sufficient for YES; an actual demonstration is not required.

• While the time zone of Tesla's headquarters would be a natural choice for October 1, 2026, this market allows any time zone on Earth. A qualifying announcement counts if it is October 1, 2026 anywhere on Earth at the time of the announcement. This gives Tesla a slightly wider window.

• This market will resolve YES shortly after the conditions are met.
