Resolution criteria

This market will resolve YES if, at any time before the close date, Moldova holds a referendum regarding the unification of Moldova and Romania into a single sovereign state.

This market will otherwise resolve NO at the close date.

Close date

This market is set to close at 23:59:00 UTC on 31 December 2027.

Clarifications

The Britannica Dictionary offers the following definitions of 'referendum':

an event in which the people of a county, state, etc., vote for or against a law that deals with a specific issue

a public vote on a particular issue

For the purpose of this market:

• a sub-national referendum will not be sufficient for a YES resolution;

• the referendum must be authorised by the Moldovan government in order to trigger a YES resolution;

• the referendum does not need to be legally or constitutionally binding in order to trigger a YES resolution.
