"The Town" is a podcast hosted by Matt Belloni, covering Hollywood news. Matt recently posted the Sweet 16 of their "The Town Hollywood Power Bracket":
This market resolves to the winner of this bracket.
On the podcast, they explained the rough (subjective) rationale, which is basically "if you work in Hollywood, and you receive a phone call from multiple people, who do you call back first?".
Presumably, you would call back Bob Iger before Jennifer Salke (head of Amazon Studios), as he's a more important player in Hollywood.
From the linked tweet, It seems fairly clear that the winner will be determined by a listener vote, but I don't know exactly how the format works (e.g. if the round of 8 also be a listener vote).
If I hear more details, I'll add a comment to explain.
@traders Congratulations to TAYLOR SWIFT [1]. She beat Bob Iger in a poll, with 52.5% of the vote. Check out my other The Town podcast market next (who will win their box office draft).
[1]. I was waiting for this to be announced, but the latest episode with Lucas Shaw didn't say anything either, and it was going to be handled by poll, so seems perfectly safe to just resolve it now.
The final four is set: Bob Iger, Swift, Ari Emmanuel, Ted Sarandos & Greg Peters. It looks like the remaining matchups will be decided by a listener vote.
