The Canadian Parliament is considering Bill C-22. https://www.parl.ca/DocumentViewer/en/45-1/bill/C-22/first-reading

Currently, section 5(2)(d) allows for the government to, without a warrant, require companies to retain metadata on all of their users.

This question resolves YES if the bill passes and contains a similar/identical provision. It resolves NO if the bill does not pass, or if the provision is removed/restricted such that it is no longer both warrantless surveillance of all or most customers/users. (Removing 1 of those two components is sufficient for this market to resolve NO).

Resolution will be be determined based on legal analyses of the bill, and by reading the text of the bill itself. As this may be subjective, I will not trade on this market.
