I will resolve based on the media consensus after two weeks. Will extend if no consensus by then.

It’s now clear it was both a cyber attack and a supply chain hack, the former enabled by the latter. I think BAC (the Hungarian “manufacturer” using the Apollo Gold brand) is a Mossad front.

@mqudsi It's not looking like 'Overheating by cyber' which I specifically wrote. I didn't write a generic 'cyber attack'

& implanted explosives doesn't make 'Overheating by cyber attack' ring true, the spirit of the statement was that it was a standalone thing without the supply chain attack needed in the first place. I am open to discussion but it's looking like supply chain compromise.

Israel carried out its operation against Hezbollah on Tuesday by hiding explosive material within a new batch of Taiwanese-made pagers imported into Lebanon, according to American and other officials briefed on the operation.

The pagers, which Hezbollah had ordered from Gold Apollo in Taiwan, had been tampered with before they reached Lebanon, according to some of the officials. Most were the company’s AP924 model, though three other Gold Apollo models were also included in the shipment.

The explosive material, as little as one to two ounces, was implanted next to the battery in each pager, two of the officials said. A switch was also embedded that could be triggered remotely to detonate the explosives.

Sky News Arabia is reporting a combination of explosive added to batteries and battery overheating to set off the explosive. If true I recommend resolving N/A, since this violates the assumption of this market that the two options are mutually exclusive.
